1.  I started my book club book last night and read for about an hour.  Book Club is tonight and I need to get it re-read.  It is Fahrenheit 451.  I kind of remember it but it's been a while so I finished it this morning.
2.  The day is absolutely lovely.  This has been the greatest Spring I can ever remember.  The only thing that almost ruined it was this:  I had a real bad a** gang come into my yard today...twice.  It was the largest crow you have ever seen, accompanied by 3 magpies.  They flew into my pine tree to try to kill the baby robins.  I ran outside and yelled and they few away.  I thought it was weird that they were together, thinking it must be a coincidence that they had all come,  so I sat in the craft room and looked out the window.  About an hour later,  THEY CAME BACK!  They were all together, the same crow and three magpies,  and tried the dirty deed again.  I pounded on the window and scared them off once more.  I was ready to hit them with my broom but they didn't come back.  After watching how hard the robin parents work all day long bringing worms to their babies,  I couldn't let them down.
3.  We only had 5 people at book club tonight.  I guess there was too much going on but we had the best discussion on a book that we have ever had.  Fahrenheit 451 really was an interesting book and Ray Bradbury was almost prophetic in his writing.  It was written in 1953 before TVs, IPhones, etc. but he wrote  of little listening devises in the ear (we now have ear buds) he talked of big televisors on the walls (we have big screen TVs) he talked about people being careful by not saying anything or doing anything to offend anyone so all the books were burned.  I don't want to offend anyone either but I do have a right to my opinions even if others these days try to tell me I don't.
4.  Susan K had homemade brownies, and fresh pineapple and strawberries for dessert. Now that right there is a reason to go to book club.  I have been having strawberries every day this week.  I'm thinking I need to plant a few strawberry plants for fresh eating and jam.
5.  I am also thinking I need to go to some estate sales or garage sales this year.  I have been watching the American Pickers show on the History channel and it gets my blood pumping.  I just know there is a cute dish,  a book, a flower pot or a craft item out there waiting for me to refurbish.  Who wants to go?
