1.  I love Fridays.  Usually my house work is done and I can stay in bed, which I did until 8:30.  I tried to read but got caught up in the Today show so didn't start my new book.
The weather is nice and I opened the door for fresh air, and just puttered all day.
2.  Wayne came home a little early and we went to Nick's track meet.  He did really well in the long jump....1st place...and may have set a new record for that junior high.  He scratched he first two tries but then jumped 18' 4".  He did well on all his other races too.
3.  We ate dinner with Colett and Nick at Subway.  There is a young man that works there that always talks to us and tonight he pulled up a chair and joined us.  Brian is his name.  A nice and VERY friendly young man.  I think he is either autistic or slow but he sure makes you feel welcome.
4.  I was going to ride my bike today because it was nice but completely forgot.  I haven't ridden it since I got it for Christmas.  I really need to go get a helmet.  the girls at book club said they got theirs at Costco so I need to go check and see if they have any.
5.  I watched "Who Do You Think You Are" again tonight and some of the stories just broke my heart.  Reba McIntyre was the show's subject today and she learned that her 6th great grandpa living in England, had a 9 year old son that was sent to the US on a small ship, all by himself to be an indentured servant here.  They were treated pretty much like slaves except they would get their freedom at 21 where the slaves did not.   Can you imagine never seeing your 9 year old or never knowing how they are?  Her 4th great grandpa was a slave owner and bought and sold little children, one as young as 18 months.  That is a travesty.  We may have troubles in our country now but so many things have sure improved.
