1.  The whole family hiked into Porcupine Falls.  I had a harder time with my bad leg but with Wayne in front of me, I held onto him and made it.  The trail wasn't bad but was steep.  When we got to the bottom, the Falls were just amazing. I did fall down once, but didn't get hurt and got right back up.  I long for my healthy leg and maybe even cried a little for what I used to be, but that only lasted a few seconds. It is easier to climb out but it took me a while.
2.  We stopped at Porcupine creek when we climbed out and I caught 2 fish and had the third out of the water but it fell back in. I was grateful that Wes took one off my hook for me.  I don't like that part, and Isabelle and Amelia will put the grasshopper on my hook.  What good granddaughters they are.
3.  We had a few things go wrong...Colett had no sleep and couldn't catch a fish,  Wes got a bad high altitude headache, Wayne and Amy started getting a bad colds, little E peed his pants (which he has never done before) and Isabelle fell into the river.  It also rained so we couldn't cook our tin foil dinners, but we were all happy anyway and went to dinner at Elk Ridge.
4.  We almost hit a black cow on the road.  Wayne slammed on the brakes just in time.  The cow refused to move and we then saw a dead cow by the side of the road.  Someone else had not been lucky enough to stop in time.  It was funny though, because it looked like the cows were giving it a funeral.  They were circling the dead body.  Licking it's hooves and kicking up dust.  I have never seen anything like it before.
5.  I had gotten some new tennis shoes for the trip.  It is never usually a good idea to wear them for the first time when you go hiking, but they worked great and I didn't lose my toe nail this time.
