I have had this pencil sharpener for many, many, many years.  It was kind of a splurge at the time.  Even though it wasn't expensive, I didn't have a lot of money for frivolous things when I bought it.  It might have been smarter to buy school lunch items instead, but buy it I did, and have used it forever.  It has a lever that you crank up and down which makes it suck tight to the counter and it sharpens the pencils to a very fine point.   At the time, nobody had or used mechanical pencils . I use them occasionally but I still use wooden pencils most of the time, and this baby is still in use and as sharp as ever.
