I was sitting in the craft room one day when Fozzie, the red poodle starting barking frantically.
I went in the living room to see what he was barking about. There was nothing there so I told him to "hush up, you are driving me crazy". I went back to my computer but he started barking again even more frantically. I went back and then I saw what he was barking about.
There is a robin sitting in the tree by the window but all of a sudden the robin attacks the window, hitting it with full force and pecking and clawing at it. I thought at first he must must be seeing his reflection, but the window is in the shade. He flies back to the tree and in a few moments, he attacks again, over and over and over. Needless to say it was kind of unnerving, and I didn't know what to do. I thought he might be trying to commit suicide. He would fly to the tree, rest a while and then continue his hysterical tirade.
I do have a small bird sculpture in one of the top windows and thought maybe he didn't like that and was trying to defend his family, but there was not nest and no partner in sight. Maybe, like humans, there are some crazy specimens. He finally flew away and Fozzie was able to calm down. What a weird, weird world we live in some times.
