This is a picture from around where I grew up. The mountain in the back is called Heart or Hart Mountain. The area is a farming area...usually sugar beets or corn are grown in this area of the Big Horn Basin and I am amazed at the things that can be grown with so much alkali in the soil. This is a picture that I saved from the Cowley, Wyoming web site. It was taken at just the right time of day to get the blending of scenery and the division of colors. I loved growing up here and have so much gratitude to the pioneers for making this desert bloom like a rose. Thank you Gary Little for this picture and a chance to get a little homesick again.

Mom, I love your blog, but the black background makes my eyes go crazy. It's hard to read the text and focus on the pictures. Isn't it a little depressing for someone like you? I would have expected a red background or something more Joanish? Anyway, I heart Hart mountain.
